Drawing on her longstanding admiration for Marilyn Monroe and deep familiarity with her life and cultural legacy, Anna Bee has created a complete 78-card tarot collection inspired by carefully selected historical photographs identified and documented as public-domain material.
Each source photograph is selected by Anna Bee for its connection to the symbolic meaning of a particular tarot card and substantially reimagined through her digital artistic process. The collection creates a new visual narrative exploring beauty, vulnerability, desire, fame, transformation, strength and mystery.

My connection with Marilyn Monroe began with admiration, but over time it became something deeper: a profound empathy for the woman behind the icon.
I have always believed Marilyn was far more intelligent, sensitive, ambitious and complex than the image the world created around her. To me, she was never simply a symbol of beauty or sexuality.
78 Cards. A Life Reinterpreted Through Tarot.
Anna Bee approaches the collection as an artist and admirer who has studied Marilyn Monroe’s life, public image and cultural legacy. Across the 78 cards, Anna selects historical imagery identified and documented as public-domain material whose moment, expression, relationship or context resonates with the meaning and symbolism of each tarot archetype. The collection is centered on Marilyn, while selected cards introduce other figures when Anna’s symbolic narrative calls for them.
The selected photograph then becomes source material for substantial digital reinterpretation. Anna determines the conceptual pairing, composition, visual direction, symbolic treatment and final artistic presentation of each card.
The result is not a reproduction archive of historical photographs, but a unified Anna Bee tarot series in which familiar public-domain imagery is transformed through a new artistic and symbolic framework.
Anna’s connection to the collection also becomes part of the work itself. As the artist interpreting Marilyn’s story through the 78 archetypes, Anna appears in the deck as The Empress, using her own portrait rather than an image of Marilyn.
The choice is intentional. The Empress represents creativity, feminine power, beauty and creation — making the card a symbolic presence of the artist within the world she has created. Anna’s own physical resemblance to Marilyn adds a subtle visual connection between artist and subject, while the card remains unmistakably Anna herself.

Each 2.75 × 4.75-inch (approximately 70 × 121 mm) card is conceived as an individual Anna Bee artwork while remaining part of a unified 78-card tarot collection. The reverse of every card carries a custom Art Deco-inspired design created for Anna Bee Tarot, giving the collection a distinctive visual identity of its own.

Across 78 individually designed cards, Anna Bee brings the complete Major and Minor Arcana together through an artistic interpretation centered on Marilyn Monroe’s life, public image and cultural world. Selected cards may feature other figures where the symbolic narrative calls for them, including Anna herself as The Empress.
Each card is presented as an Anna Bee artwork. Marilyn Monroe’s name or surname does not appear as branding on the individual cards. Each card carries Anna Bee branding/logo as the source identifier.
