Anna Bee’s most personal body of work begins with a real childhood photograph — yours, or your child’s — and paints the dream that photograph could never show: the ballerina, the astronaut, the hero imagined but never become. Each Wondermakers piece is a commissioned oil painting, made privately with the studio for a single collector.

Anna Bee’s artistic foundation was formed through six years of rigorous fine arts education in Russia during the years immediately following the Soviet Union. Her training in anatomy, drawing, perspective, composition and painting continues to inform a practice in which technical precision and emotional depth coexist.
